LED Converters (aka Voltage Regulated LED
Converters / DC
Transformers / DC Converters)
are used to convert line-voltage (120VAC-240VAC) to
stable voltage-regulated 12VDC or 24VDC, which is
required to safely run most of our low voltage LED
products.
They are compact, lightweight and
economical; and feature internal resettable short
circuit protection.
Other features are thermal
protection and overload regulation.
The LED Converter can be installed up to
30' from the last light in your circuit.
These are compatible with most DC
dimmers (including our
PWM LED Dimmer,
Intervolt,
and IML Rotary dimmers).
NOTE: These cannot
be dimmed with an AC dimmer on the primary side. Nor
will they work with low voltage AC dimmers (on the
secondary side).

What is an LED Converter?
When using LED lights on DC power that is
converted from AC Power, you may
experience noise or fluctuations in intensity. This is typically caused by
non-smooth power characteristics (such as sine wave influence). This can usually be
resolved with an LED Converter. An LED converter not only converts AC to
DC, it also smoothes out the wave (provides superior voltage regulation),
so your LED's get what they need in a regulated dosage.
The bottom line is, if your power source is
noisy (such as if it
was converted from AC instead of being sourced from a battery or solar
cell), you may find an LED Converter is the best solution (not all
transformers / power supplies are of the same caliber).
LED converters are designed
specifically to power LED's.
