Indel Marine, best
known as one of the world’s leading authorities on
marine refrigeration technology (Isotherm
Cruise Refrigerators), has identified a greater need
for onboard security at a time when an ever increasing
number of boat owners are using more sophisticated and
expensive equipment. To help alleviate the potential
problem of theft, Indel Marine has introduced robust,
stainless steel marine safes to its product range.
The Isotherm boat
safes are available in two sizes, the largest model,
Safe 30, is big enough in size to store a lap-top
computer, so often a popular target for thieves. The
smaller model, Safe 10, will suit smaller sized
electronic equipment such as VHF radios and hand held
GPS systems. Inside the safe, equipment is protected
by a soft felt lining.
Each boat safe is
equipped with an electronic code locker with a
sharp display and built in battery, so they operate independently from external power. When an
incorrect code is entered, a warning signal is
activated. Should you forget your personal code, the
safe is supplied with keys, which can be used in a
hidden keyhole, which is exposed only by unscrewing a
cover.
The Isotherm Boat
Safe comes with:
- three mechanical
keys (we advise the safe owner to hide one key on the
boat, one in the car and one at home in the event they
forget their code),
- a programmable
keypad, and
- a magnetic key that
can be programmed with the code you set on the keypad.
Safe Installation:
The Safe30 and smaller Safe10 both have holes in the
bottom and back that will take a lag bolt which you
would ratchet down into a secure mounting location.
There is a felt lining inside the safe that is pulled
back to install the bolts. Since the bolt heads are
inside the safe, it is impossible to take the the bolts
off and impossible to pry the safe up to steal it.
The door of the
safe is constructed with 5mm thick stainless steel and
contains two solid locking bars and unbreakable internal
hidden hinges.
