Air flow for cooling occurs in 3 areas:

1 - through the bottom (small feet hold the microwave up off the counter top)

2 - on the lower left side (when looking at the unit from the front)

3 - on the rear as shown in the photograph below.

Rear spacers (refer to white arrow in photo) keep the unit away from your back wall to allow exhaust air to escape. The 13-1/2" depth includes the spacer.

Installation note - these microwave ovens are not intended to be hung from above. These microwave ovens are intended for countertop use. If you want to secure this unit, the best way to securely mount it is through the 4 rubber feet. There is an insert in each foot that holds the foot in place. The inserts can be removed and a screw anchor can be glued in place of each. Then you can screw into the screw anchors from below. Be certain to minimize screw length, as there are components inside that you could damage - do not let the screw penetrate beyond the top of the foot! That would void your warranty!
