| Our standard 12 Volt LED Rope Lights are 3/8" diameter, and are a modern alternative to incandescent rope lighting. LED Rope Lights are very efficient and produce very little heat. Another advantage to LED Rope Lights is they have no filament to break. 12 volt rope light accessories, including a power cord/connector kit which let's you wire the LED rope lights to your power feed, are ordered separately (more details below). |

Installation Note: Before you install your LED rope lights, connect the power and verify illumination. Then as you do your installation, beware of which end you need to feed the power to. Why? LED rope lighting contains diodes that allow the electricity to flow in one direction only. Because of this, when you hook up power to the LED rope lighting, it may not illuminate. If this is the case, disconnect the power and reconnect it to the other end of the LED rope lighting.

Can this be used domestically (for household 120VAC)? It would be easier to simply order 120 VAC LED Rope Lights and Accessories. That being said, the low voltage 12VDC LED Rope Light may be used for domestic/ household ( 120VAC) use if you convert your 120VAC power feed to the proper voltage. Since it is designed for use with a 12 volt DC power source, it is not supplied with an AC adapter. So, for use with domestic (household) voltage (120VAC), you would need to first add an appropriately sized step-down converter (see our selection of LED Converters which not only step the voltage down to 12 volts, but they also convert/rectify it to DC voltage) .
Can this be used with a 12 volt AC power source, such as a transformer? If you use the appropriate Power Cord D: IMT-ILMDL-CON12V-L6 (this power cord has an in-line rectifier that changes the 12 volts AC to 12 volts DC).
This specific voltage and color of rope light can be cut every 3" (every 3 bulbs). If you want the warehouse to cut it into specific lengths for you, order the total overall length that you need, and enter your cut requests in the Comments field during checkout. This Rope Light is priced and sold by the foot. |
