Vertical Windlasses
Vertical windlasses have the chainwheel and vertical drive shaft mounted above the gearbox and motor, which are typically mounted below the deck. The topworks with chainwheel and drive shaft can have low profile fitments that can retrieve combination rope and chain rodes. Please keep in mind that determining the appropriate rode angle and sizing your chain locker accommodations are very important parts of getting the right vertical windlass!
